The way it's working in my system is that I get the Mac Address, send that MAC as a string into this module, and the serial number is spit out. I uploaded a Simpl+ Module that does this. The command will return the firmware version and serial number of most devices. I don't guess there are any MASH fans out there either. In conclusion, you can derive the serial number for a processor from the "VER" command. I've found two of our office processors with TSIDs of 00000000, but this is EASY to fix. Obviously, if your processor's TSID is set to 00000000, you won't get a useful result. The TSID is an encoding of the serial number, so if you decode the TSID result from the VER command, you can determine the serial number. The "VER" command returns the processor type, firmware version, and THEN the TSID (it follows the #).
